The Still - Tuesday 6:23

For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish. — Jeremiah 31:25

Summer is here, and with it comes the quiet permission to slow down. God designed rest not as an interruption to life, but as a vital part of it — a rhythm that restores what work, stress, and routine slowly drain. Vacation isn’t just time off. It’s time to be re‑created. Literally re‑created — physically, emotionally, spiritually. When you step away from the grind, your body heals, your mind unclutters, and your soul finally exhales. God promises to satisfy the weary soul, and rest is one of the primary ways He keeps that promise.

Rest also reconnects you with the people who matter most. When the pace slows, presence becomes possible. You notice your spouse again. You hear your kids again. You feel the warmth of relationships that get overshadowed when life runs too fast. Rest is not selfish — it’s relational maintenance. It’s choosing to give your best energy to the people God entrusted to you, not just to the tasks that demand you. A replenished soul loves better, listens better, and shows up better.

And rest draws you back to your Creator. When the noise fades, God’s voice becomes clearer. When the schedule loosens, reflection becomes natural. When the striving stops, gratitude rises. Vacation becomes more than recreation — it becomes restoration. God replenishes the soul that slows down long enough to receive Him. You return not just refreshed, but realigned.

This is the daily dichotomy: The world treats rest as optional; choose to see it as essential. Many believe slowing down wastes time; trust that slowing down restores life. Some think productivity defines worth; remember that God replenishes you because you belong to Him, not because you produce for Him.

Take one small step today: Protect a pocket of rest — even a few minutes — and let God begin replenishing what work has worn thin.

Let this summer be a season where your soul is satisfied, your relationships strengthened, and your heart re‑created by the God who restores the weary.
