The Still - Tuesday 3:24

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit… You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. - 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

As we prepare for Holy Week, this is the perfect moment to clean the temple. Just as Jesus drove out the money changers and confronted everything that corrupted the heart, we are invited to clear out what has been weighing down our bodies — the living temples God entrusted to us. For some, this may be years of habits that have slowly dulled energy and clarity. For others, it’s the familiar cycle of winter inactivity or a New Year’s resolution that flared and faded. But what better time for renewal than the week we remember the resurrection — the ultimate fresh start.

Our habits shape our health, our focus, and our spiritual posture. Even if you feel like you’ve wandered far from where you hoped to be, it only takes one step to turn around. God meets you the moment you move toward Him. This is the daily dichotomy: honor the temple or continue to clutter it, choose renewal or resignation, care for the body God gave you or numb it with what drains you. One path leads to life. The other leads to sluggishness, distraction, and distance.

For today, begin a short fast. For some, that simply means skipping the late‑night snacks that have become a quiet second dinner. Others may be able to start earlier or extend longer. Wherever you need to begin, stop. Stop filling your body with what weighs you down. Stop crowding your temple with what doesn’t serve you. Give your body space to rest, to reset, to heal. Drink water. Go to bed earlier. Let your body breathe. Tomorrow morning, you will feel the difference.

Your body is a temple God chose to dwell in. Honor Him with it today, and He will strengthen you for the days ahead.
