The Still - Friday 6:26

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous. — Proverbs 13:22

Money is never just about money. Scripture reminds us that the real measure of wealth is not what we accumulate but what outlives us. An inheritance is more than assets — it is wisdom, habits, character, and faith passed down through the generations. When you steward what God gives with integrity and patience, you build something that blesses people you may never meet. That is the kind of wealth heaven calls “good.”

There is also a warning tucked inside this verse. Wealth gained without righteousness — through shortcuts, compromise, or self‑centered living — never lasts. It slips away, gets redirected, or collapses under its own weight. But when your financial life is shaped by discipline, generosity, and obedience, God uses it to strengthen your family tree. Your children and their children inherit more than resources; they inherit a way of life.

Legacy is built in small, steady decisions: choosing contentment over comparison, diligence over haste, generosity over fear, and long‑term faithfulness over short‑term gain. Every wise choice becomes part of the trellis your family will grow on. You are shaping a future you may never see, but God sees it — and He honors it.

This is the daily dichotomy: The world chases quick wealth; choose the kind that lasts. Many measure success by accumulation; remember that God measures it by legacy. Some think money is the goal; trust that it is only a tool for building what truly endures.

Take one small step today: Make one financial decision with your grandchildren in mind — even if they don’t exist yet.

What you build with God today becomes the blessing your family stands on tomorrow.
