The Still - Friday 6:12
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. And thereby put Me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. — Malachi 3:10
God does not often invite us to test Him — but in Malachi 3:10, He does. Not because He doubts Himself, but because He knows we doubt Him. He knows how tightly we hold our resources. He knows how easily fear convinces us to clutch instead of trust. And He knows that generosity is not about money — it is about faith. When we release what we have, we discover what He has been waiting to give.
For those with a home church, the storehouse is clear. For those without one, the principle remains: support the ministry that feeds you, remember the widow and the orphan, and give to the poor through organizations where the funds reach the needy — not the executive suite or the bureaucracy. God’s heart has always been for the vulnerable, and our giving aligns us with His priorities. The point is not the institution; the point is obedience, compassion, and trust.
Malachi 3:10 is not a prosperity formula. It is a spiritual alignment. God is not promising luxury — He is promising sufficiency. He is promising provision without sorrow, blessing without bondage, increase without anxiety. When we give, we loosen the grip of fear. When we give, we declare that God — not money — is our security. And when we give, we make room for the windows of heaven to open in ways we could never manufacture on our own.
This is the daily dichotomy: Fear says hold tightly; faith says open your hand. The world says accumulate; God says distribute. Money promises security; God provides it. Clutching closes the windows of heaven; obedience opens them.
Take one small step today: Give something — somewhere — to someone who cannot repay you. Let generosity be your declaration of trust.
Open your hand. Open your heart. And watch God open the windows of heaven.
